Terms and Conditions

Virtual Education Expo is a collaboration between Graduateland ApS (Graduateland') and Careers Unlimited. By creating a user on Virtual Education Expo you accept to become part of the Graduateland Network, which is made up of several university career portals, as well as Graduateland.com and Careerland.dk.
Please read the following regulations in order to ensure that you understand and accept the conditions for being a user of Virtual Education Expo. By proceeding your registration process you are obliged to follow Virtual Education Expo's rules and regulations. After reading please tick the designated box at the bottom of the page to accept the terms and conditions.

Start of the Regulations

These regulations with serial number 01.05.2018 take effect from 1st May 2018

By establishing a profile on Virtual Education Expo you accept the following conditions
  • You are not allowed to establish a profile other than your own personal profile. It is not allowed to use other people's email addresses or false email addresses.
  • Each member on Virtual Education Expo must be respected and it is imperative that you treat other members the way you wish to be treated yourself.

User Rules

  • The user shall be responsible for filling in correct and truthful information.
  • The user shall be responsible for any activity that takes place within his or her profile and for any potential third party involvement solicited or accepted by the user.
  • Graduateland shall have the exclusive right to expel existing members if it is found that; members behave unlawfully or unethically, if Graduateland services are misused and/or if general behaviour not accepted by Graduateland occurs.
  • The user shall be responsible for any actual or potential economic or legal lawsuit against Graduateland as a consequence of the user's wrongdoing or mismanagement of the profile.
  • The user shall be responsible for suitable software and technological solutions needed to run Graduateland, e.g. web browsers supporting the Graduateland software.
  • The user shall not be entitled to use Graduateland as a platform for marketing and promoting of own personal goods and services.
  • The user shall not be entitled to expose any material, which relates to religious, political, sexual or racial aspects on Graduateland.

Intellectual property rights

All intellectual property rights including brand, establishment and information regarding other members belong to Graduateland. The user shall not be entitled to distribute or use any information from Virtual Education Expo for commercial purposes or personal financial gains.

Responsibilities of Graduateland

Graduateland shall be under the obligation to:
  • Not develop their website artificially based on falsely established profiles or moderators.
  • Answer as quickly as possible when users have requests to the support function.
  • Permanently delete email addresses if requested upon by a member.

Liability

Graduateland shall not be liable to the user in relation to:
  • The behaviour of other users. It is possible for users to report on negative media material and text.
  • Contracts, which are developed and signed through the network on Graduateland.
  • Any direct or indirect financial or emotional loss that exceeds the one paid to Graduateland.
  • Loss of data. Graduateland is not a database for the individual user as such. It is up to the individual user to create back up of the necessary information. Graduateland shall not be held liable for the actual or potential loss of data and information on the site regardless of the reason.

Our social responsibilities

At Graduateland we value:
  • To operate a system that caters for fast reporting to us in relation to inappropriate or unethical behaviour on the website.
  • To operate a system that in general allows us to be in close contact with our users.
  • To operate a system that includes the fighting of scamming, spamming and phishing on the web-site. We have installed a security filter that limits the number of spammers and false members on the site but it is always advised that the users stay alert towards messages and information that might be "too good to be true" or any suspicious behaviour.

User privacy

  • When you sign up you agree to receive emails from Virtual Education Expo, as well as from other portals in the Graduateland Network, including Careerland.dk.
  • The amount of and the frequency at which you receive emails depend on the activity of the employers from which you wish to "follow".
  • Graduateland shall be entitled to use the email system for questionnaires about Graduateland's own services and product development, and for the content of Graduateland's paying employers and universities using the services provided by Graduateland.
  • The user shall at any time be entitled to choose to adjust the delivery by altering this function under "Account" – "Account Settings" – "Notifications".

Data collection

  • When the user establishes a profile on Virtual Education Expo the user also accepts that personal information will be stored on Graduateland's servers and that parts hereof can be shared with the universities and the employers using the services provided by Graduateland.
  • When the user establishes a profile on Virtual Education Expo the user also chooses to expose personal data to employers and universities. Therefore evaluate inputs, including pictures, carefully.
  • Virtual Education Expo is using cookies within its operating system. This technicality ensures that the system remembers the user's email address and access to the site. The user can disable this setting in the Internet browser.
  • Each time the user visits Virtual Education Expo the IP-address will be registered. The IP address is the address of the computer that the user is using to access Virtual Education Expo. The IP address is registered to ensure that Graduateland always will be able to locate the computer used to access the site. This has been established to counteract on-site illegal activities.

Use of personal data

The information Graduateland collects about the user can and will be used in different ways:
  • Name and email: This is used to identify the user as a user on Virtual Education Expo so that Graduateland and employers and universities will be able to contact the user. The user's email address is also used to send emails to the user based on the information requested on the user's Dashboard. - The user can choose to adjust the delivery by altering this function under "Account" – "Account Settings" – "Notifications" at any time.
  • Postal and zip code are used to locate the user geographically and for Graduateland to understand how their users are placed around the world. This will give Graduateland the opportunity to create networks and events in locations where there is a high number of Graduateland members.
  • Birth date and gender are used to further identify the user and make the profile more visible on Graduateland.
  • Graduateland can also use the information provided by the user at the signup process to improve services and functionalities by analysing the way the user use the portal. As an example we can use the cookies and IP-addresses to see which parts of the webpage are most frequently used and thereby improve and optimise the services and functionalities mostly used.
  • Graduateland uses the user's information in Graduateland's backoffice recruitment system designed for Employers and Universities. This enables Employers and Universities to contact the user, based on the information provided by the user.
  • With your consent we share your profile information with employers that are online. Virtual Education Expo enables employers to see your profile information (the parts that you have set as ‘visible’) and may also use the information for business purposes. Based on the relevancy of your profile and skills employers can reach out to you via chat messages.
  • Any comment sent to Graduateland about this website can be used without limitations.
  • Received information will not be treated as confidential.

Distribution of personal data

  • As previously mentioned the user must be aware that his/her profile and activities will be visible to employers and universities. In addition, parts of the profile will be visible to non-members visiting the site.
  • The user accepts that in case Graduateland's services are misused, the information at Graduateland's disposal such as IP address will be distributed to the relevant authorities in case this is required.
  • Graduateland shall be entitled to distribute all information about the user on the web site to a third party if it happens anonymously or if third party is included in an agreement about confidentiality. Such distribution can take place in connection with statistical analysis about the web site, market research and as preparation for commercials, general branding and recruitment activity on Graduateland. This information may also be used as input variables in Graduateland's backend solution designed for employers and universities.

Right to admission and correction

If the user realises that personal information on Virtual Education Expo is incorrect or misleading the user shall have access to the profile where necessary corrections can be made. Alternatively the user may contact Graduateland and request that the corrections shall be made within a reasonable time frame. The user is entitled to delete the profile. This means that the profile cannot be found or accessed by anyone. Personal information can be changed on "My Profile".

Use of data/third party use of data

  • Graduateland shall be entitled to use of an external company to perform technical maintenance of the website. In such case the company will handle Graduateland's data responsibility.
  • Any company handling data on Virtual Education Expo will operate under the same regulations and law as Graduateland with regard to confidentiality.
  • In case the whole company Graduateland ApS or parts thereof is handed over to a third party the user accepts that personal data on Virtual Education Expo can be transferred to third party. This requires that the third party respects and follows the conditions for data handling as mentioned in this document.

Change in business principles

Graduateland shall be entitled to change the above mentioned business principles at any time. If any change is made this will be made public on Virtual Education Expo after which the user has 30 days to become familiar with them. After 30 days it will be anticipated that all existing users accept and understand the changes.

Conditions for uploading photos and pictures

All photos and pictures uploaded to Virtual Education Expo must respect the following:
  • The photos and pictures must be free from copyrights and/or other restricted or limited use. The user must possess the complete rights to the photos and pictures that the user uploads. No third party must have the copyright or other rights to the photos or pictures that the user uploads. The people visible on the photos and pictures must have given their acceptance of public display.
  • The photos and pictures must be clear. Unclear and modified photos and pictures will be deleted.
  • The photos and pictures must not contain logos, links and references to other web pages or companies and/or their products.
  • The photos and pictures must not include violent, threatening, un-sober or sexual elements. The photos and pictures must not display weapons, money or illegal drugs.
Non-compliance of the above mentioned conditions for uploading photos and pictures could lead to expulsion from this site. Graduateland shall not be liable for the non-compliance of a user.

Profile photos and pictures

Profile photos and pictures are visible to employers and universities, which is why the regulations for uploading such material are more restrictive than for other categories. The profile photo or picture must only include you. In general Graduateland maintains the right to block or delete all content that shows threatening, hate full or vulgar behaviour. Any profile with discriminating behaviour towards individuals or groups based on ethnic, religious or sexual orientation will be deleted, blocked and reported to the legal authorities. Any profile that pretends to be another person (a false profile) will be deleted, blocked and reported to the legal authorities.

Pornographic material

Any type of pornographic material will be deleted immediately and without warning. This includes pictures or photos of sexual or erotic character as well as abuse and physical damage of any kind.

Protected material

Content on Virtual Education Expo protected by copyright shall belong to the rightful owner. Other members shall thus not be allowed to use this material without the acceptance of the rightful owner. Any material used but not belonging to the rightful owner and protected by (©, ®, ™) will be deleted or blocked. This includes any picture which is not yours and material which belongs to Graduateland.

Spam

Extensive distribution of one and the same content is strictly illegal on Virtual Education Expo. Profiles showing such behaviour will be deleted immediately. This includes the sending of unwanted emails, chain letters or unwanted commercials such as product promotion and marketing of websites.

Illegal activities

In general any illegal activity shall not be allowed on Virtual Education Expo. The following will immediately be deleted from Virtual Education Expo:
  • Photos and pictures showing pornographic situations, illegal drugs, cash and weapons.
  • Vira and other computer codes with the aim of harming or destroy IT equipment belonging to us or our members.
  • Any activity that motivates illegal activities or distributes knowledge about it such as trade with illegal drugs and weapons.
  • This legal notice shall be governed by Danish Law. Any dispute arising out of or in relation to this legal notice which can not be solved amicably shall be decided by the Danish Courts.

Final Remark

Graduateland strives to create a positive and dynamic environment and therefore expects the user to share this philosophy. Graduateland is here to collaborate. The user is advised to read and accept Graduateland's rules and regulations before signing in as a user.

We operate education and course exhibitions in Ireland. This privacy notice tells you what to expect when Virtual Education Expo collects personal information about you when you register and/or attend one of our events and/or sign-up to receive updates from us by email. Virtual Education Expo is committed to protecting your personal information when you use our services.

Personal information as used in this Privacy Policy refers to information such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, your education, your employment history, or telephone number that can be used to identify you. You may also provide us with other personal information such as your gender, town or city you live in, your career or training interests and any other information you may choose to submit or share with our processors or to us.

Personal data under data protection legislation includes your image (moving and still) and if you attend one our events we take photos and video at our events which may be used for our own promotional use (social media, website).

Generally, we will only process your personal information/data as described in this Privacy Policy. However we may have to conduct additional processing required by law.

Some of our services do not require any form of registration, allowing you to visit our site without the need to give us any personal information about you.

Some services may require you to provide us with personal information/data. In these situations, if you choose to withhold any personal information/data requested by us, it may not be possible for you to gain access to certain services we provide.

We may process your personal information/data to provide you with products or services you express an interest in, to market products and services which we think may be of interest to you, or to communicate with you for other purposes which we assess would be in our legitimate interest to do so and we assess is not invasive, unexpected or unwanted by you.

1 What information will we collect about you?

1.1 Signing up for our newsletter.

When you sign up to receive our newsletter we will seek only your name and your email address so you can be kept up to date with the latest news about courses, opportunities and info about the Virtual Education Expo fair and events.

1.2 When you register to attend an event

Our partner Data Processor for your registration and the issuance of tickets for our Virtual Education Expo events is Eventbrite. When you register we have instructed Eventbrite to seek the following personal data from you;

Name, email, gender, age, nationality, your city or town of residence, the highest level of education you have reached, and your career or training interests.
While both Virtual Education Expo and Eventbrite has this information on you, Eventbrite are not allowed to use it for any purposes beyond anonymised statistical analysis for business planning reasons.

1.3 When you attend any of our events

When you attend our events we may photograph or video you to be used in promotional or marketing materials. We may also need to check your ticket and make a record of your attendance.

1.4 When you engage with one, or more, of our partner colleges.

You may use the online chat facility to live chat to staff from our partner colleges. This chats are facilitated through online platform run by Graduateland. The personal data exchanged is stored by Graduateland in their role as one our data processors. Any personal data exchanged with the partner colleges and subsequently stored on their networks will be done so by the partner colleges in their capacity as a separate data controller and Seats Are Ltd have no control or responsibilities in how they process this personal data.

1.5 When you visit our website

When you visit our website we will collect your

IP address, and details of which version of web browser you use; Information on how you use the site, what site you came from.

We don’t collect or store personal identifiable information such as your name and address so it’s highly unlikely this information can be used to identify who you are.

2 Who do we share your personal information with?

We never share your personal information or data that you submit to us with any external organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes. Sharing your information will be exclusively for the provision of our services or our partners, as named in this policy.

We will pass on your information and personal data if we have a legal obligation to do so, this includes exchanging information with statutory departments for legal reasons.

2.1 When you sign up for our newsletter

When you sign up for our newsletter your name and email address will be stored with our partner Data Processor; Mailchimp, a marketing automation platform and an email marketing service. They are based in the USA and are registered with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. We access and use this data held on Mailchimp though an dedicated account we have with them.

2.2 When you register to attend an event

When you register to attend an event you provide your personal data with our partner Data Processor; Eventbrite, an event technology platform. They are based in the USA and are registered with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. We access and use this data held on Mailchimp though an dedicated account we have with them.

2.3 When you attend any of our events

When you attend an event of ours we may take a photo or video of you and it may be uploaded to one of our social media sites or our websites. The photos will be taken either by a member of staff of Seats Are Ltd or a professional photo/videographer contracted by Seats Are Ltd. We have a policy or not tagging or naming people in these photos unless we have secured your demonstrated consent and we will remove any such images, whether or not you are named or tagged, at your request and without delay.

In the case your photo/video appears on our website that site is stored on our cloud servers. Our partner Data Processor is Flywheel a webhosting site based in the UK, but they use Content Delivery Network that may mean some of your data is stored outside the EEA.

When you attend Virtual Education Expo events you may engage with and share personal data with fellow attendees and/or exhibitors at the event. That sharing is outside the scope of our responsibility under data protection legislation and the processing of that personal data exchanged is a matter between those parties solely.

2.4 When you engage with one, or more, of our partner colleges.

When you live chat with a staff member from our partner colleges that personal data will be processed by Graduateland for the purpose of facilitating the secure and accurate exchange of information including your personal data.

2.5 When you visit our website

When you visit our website your, normally unidentifiable, information will be held on our servers hosted by our partner Data Processor, Flywheel a webhosting site based in the UK.

We use Google Analytics as a partner Data Processor to improve our marketing, targeting and understanding of our visitor to the site.

3 Lawful basis for processing your personal data.

3.1 Signing up for our newsletter.

We process your data when you sign up to our newsletter on the lawful basis that you have given us consent to the processing for a specific purposes, namely to receive our newsletter and to manage your future communications preferences.

3.2 When you register to attend an event

We process your data when you register to attend an event on the lawful basis of that you have given us consent to the processing for a specific purposes, namely to receive information about the event and for us to register you and, when applicable, your training and employment interests in attending the event.

3.3 When you attend any of our events

When we take a record of your attendance we do this because we have assessed it is a necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interest to do so and we believe this processing does not in any way impact negatively of your data protection rights.

Photos and videos taken of you at our events will be on the basis of you giving us your consent as we will ensure you are aware that this event will be photographed or filmed before you attend the event and we will give you the right to refuse consent without it affecting your ability to enter the event and we acknowledge your right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Photos and videos uploaded to our social media accounts or our websites will be on the basis of consent as our notice at the event will inform you of this possibility and allow you still to enter the event if you decide to object and we will have a mechanism in place to ensure this objection would be captured by the photo/videographer and/or the Seats Are employee in charge of uploading images to our social media platforms and website.

4 When you visit our website
Any processing of personal data, however unlikely, collected from visits to our website will be based on your consent, as you read and accepted our cookies policy and have decided not to alter your own preferences of your device.

3.5 When you engage with one, or more, of our partner colleges.

Your personal data provided via our online platform partner Graduateland is processed for the purposes of their legitimate interest to do so and we believe this processing does not in any way impact negatively of your data protection rights.

5 When we email you
When we email you future events, news or vacancies we think you may be interested in these emails will be sent to you based on us assessing that you would be interested in them and thereby our legal basis would be that it is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interest to do so. Each and every communication will however contain a unsubscribe button in them so you can maintain ongoing control of how we market and communicate with you.

We will never email anyone from the purchase or exchange of personal data from entities outside of Seats Are Ltd.

4 How long will we hold on to your data

We will only retain your data for as long as is it necessary to fulfil the original purpose of the processing. So for instance if you attended an Education Expo event on one or more occasions we may continue to inform you of the next ones.

If, however, we continue to inform you and you don’t ask us to stop but you haven’t attended an event in three years we will then delete your personal data.

If you ask us to stop processing your data and/or delete your personal data we will do so unless there is a lawful reason compelling us to refuse that request.

Retention and disposal of your data is the responsibility of our appointed Data Protection Officer, and once at the end of the retention period, destruction of your data will be completed.

This retention position is communicated to both our third-party and all colleges/course providers with whom we have shared your data; we will convey your status changes and ensure to the extent of our abilities that your choice to be removed from our own records is reflected on their databases in line with our policy.

5 How will we use the information we have about you?

We will use your name and email address for the purpose of sending you communications about Virtual Education Expo and to authorise your access to our services and to provide you with a range of functionalities.
We will use your name and email address for the purpose of sending you emails of Virtual Education Expo, or other Seats Are Ltd websites, events that match your interests and profile.
We will also use your data to contact you via email with information and updates about current job opportunities and online events. You will have choices within your Eventbrite account and in the footer of every communication we sent you to set the content of our communications to you.
We will use your image (still or moving) for the purposes of promoting our events and services and allowing our attendees to provide feedback and testimonials on our websites and on social media.
We will use your image (still or moving) for the purposes of marketing our events on social media.
6 Your Rights

You have the right to receive from us the following from you in relation to personal information that we process about you;

7 Our Partner Data Processors

The following is a list of third-party processors that may be used by Seats Are Ltd T/A Virtual Education Expo in the general operation of its business and the processing and storage of data. We have satisfied ourselves that these companies maintain the highest standards of data storage and security and have signed data processors agreements with them.

Graduateland – for hosting of online platform to facilitate live chats to colleges.

Eventbrite – For online registration our events

Goldmine CRM – for reporting and data management.

Mailchimp – for co-ordinating our communications with you.

Survey Monkey – for undertaking customers services.

Flywheel – our online cloud based processor we use to store and access photos and videos taken at our events.

Google Analytics – for undertaking analysis of metadata traffic and activity on our website.

Our processors only process your personal data under our agreed written instructions and it is Seats Are Ltd that determine the types of personal data processed and determine its purpose(s).

8 Third party links

In an attempt to provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).

All of our websites use some elements of a common platform and data submitted to any of all of the above websites may be stored on servers with other data.

10 Data storage

We store the information and data you provide to us, or that we otherwise receive or collect about you on our secure servers in the UK. These servers are operated by Flywheel, a third-party Data Processor. This data is backed up in the UK. To increase the performance of their platform, they give access on a worldwide basis from regionally localized service providers to ensure fast and secure access. This CDN (Content Delivery Network) solution has state of the art security certification and security protocols.

Data you provide via our website for joining any of our employment events, or as a candidate in communication with a prospective college, course provider or agent, will be stored by them. As they are located globally, your data may potentially be accessed and/or stored outside of the European Economic Area.

Transmitting information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your information and data. However, we implement safeguards designed to protect your data (such as HTTPS, SSL encryption and password protection) and regularly monitor our own systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks.

11 Privacy & Cookies

Virtualeducationexpo.ie may collect information about how you use our website and the device(s) you use to access it. This includes collecting unique online identifiers such as IP addresses, which are numbers that uniquely identify a specific computer or other network device on the internet.

We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. Virtual Education Expo is operated by Seats Are Ltd. We operate courses and recruitment exhibitions in Ireland. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING OUR WEBSITE OR REGISTERING TO ATTEND ANY OF OUR VIRTUAL EVENTS. Please be aware that we may update and change any part or all of these event Terms and Conditions at any time without notifying you first. The updated Terms and Conditions will become effective and binding on the next business day after it is posted. We also reserve the right to change the date, agenda or content for the event in our discretion. All users of this site agree that access to and use of this site are subject to the following terms and conditions and other applicable law. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this site. Information about Us We are Seats Are Ltd T/A Virtual Education Expo, a limited company registered in Ireland under company registration 533727 and with our registered office at Castleforbes House, Castleforbes Road, Dublin 1, Ireland. We operate the website www.virtualeducationexpo.ie We trade as Education Expo. Contacting us: (a) You can contact us by telephone on +353 1 5311280 or by e-mailing info@virtualeducationexpo.ie. (b) If you register for any of our events, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Services These Terms & Conditions apply to the provision of our services (employment events, course search website, recruitment services, including the collection of data for those Services). We operate an education event, featuring colleges and course providers, and we operate within the Republic of Ireland. You are using our Services as a potential student wishing to receive information from college and courser providers about courses that they offer. A primary Service that we supply is the hosting of education events where prospective students and course providers meet in a physical environment (Virtual Education Expo). This Service permits prospective students and course providers to communicate with each other and, in some cases, for course providers to view the details that you supplied us with. 2.4. We will use the information you provide us, including the information you enter into your Event Profile page, to determine whether you may be a suitable student for any attending course providers, to advise you on current suitable opportunities that we may make available for you to attempt to secure employment, and to allow you to attend our events. Use of our website Your use of our website site is governed by these Terms & Conditions and by our Privacy Policy. Please take the time to read these, as they include important terms which apply to you. Event Registration Your data and status will enable you to meet course providers with course opportunities and places and, potentially, apply for them. Course places opportunities are posted by course providers or by their representatives on our website network and for this reason, you accept that our information to you under this contract is provided exclusively on an ‘information basis’, where the website of each recruiting organisation provides the full, accurate and updated course information as well as details on how to apply. You understand that our service is not set up to accept your application for any advertised course. To do this, we will re-direct you from our website to the application page(s) of each specific advertiser/course provider. For this reason, you accept and will take all appropriate steps to ensure that if a course is of interest to you, you will be re-directed to the actual recruiting organisation webpage where you will be able to apply for the position. For clarity, we are not part of the application process and bear no responsibility for confirming, acknowledging or ensuring your application has been submitted correctly and/or received. As an advertising platform for courses, you understand and accept that the content of the advertised courses on our site is the responsibility of the course provider advertising it, and you waive any claims or damages from us arising from complaints regarding the application, interview or selection process. We take all possible care and attention to ensure that the adverts on our site are true, fair and accurate. You accept nevertheless that the final responsibility in terms of content and steps to apply for a course rests exclusively with the end advertiser/course provider. Should you be asked for anything that extends beyond the submission of your application for a course, we encourage you to contact each advertiser/course provider directly to seek all required clarifications. You accept on these basis that we cannot accept responsibility for your actions applying to a course place. Our Virtual Course Fairs Our virtual education/course exhibtions help you connect and converse with course providers during the various virtual events that we run, be informed of available courses, be visible to providers and apply to courses during and after the actual events. You may also receive information about attending organisations. We will use your data to establish whether you are potentially suitable for a position and, in some cases, make your profile visible to the recruiting officers. You will be asked to complete a pre-event questionnaire on Eventbrite.com to assess eligibility to specific events, as well as the requirements from individual attending. You accept that in some instances, you may not be able to attend specific events and by accepting the terms of this contract, you waive any present or future claims against us or the organisations attending our online events. If your profile is in line with the event and the courses being advertised, attending organisations may, in some cases, be able to view your particulars or any information you may have posted and chosen to share during events. You accept and understand that attendance to our online events is provided on a “networking and information gathering basis” and for this reason, waive your rights to any claim from you for damages or compensation of any nature resulting from the application, interview or selection process following these events or your ensuing application to any of the courses visible or related, either during or after any of our online fairs by any of the attending organisations. How a contract is formed between you and us The contract between us is formed when you confirming the statement: “I have read and agree to your Terms & Conditions” on the Eventbrite.com Registration when you submit your registration. Our website pages will guide you through the steps you need to use the services provided by us. The online registration process and the completion of your registration allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting your information and request for services. Please take the time to read and check your entries on each page. We are not liable for any errors you make. After you register for our services, you should receive an e-mail from Virtualeducationexpo.ie acknowledging that your registration has been accepted. Copyright The entire content included in this site, including but not limited to text, graphics or code is copyrighted as a collective work under the laws of the Republic of Ireland and is the property of Seats Are Ltd T/a Virtual Education Expo. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Permission is granted to electronically copy and print hard copy portions of this site for the sole purpose of promoting the Virtual Education Expo event to the general public, the business community or the media. Our right to vary these Terms & Conditions We may amend these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy from time to time and update them on our website. Every time you order services from us, the Terms & Conditions in force at the time of your order will apply to the contract between us. We may revise these Terms & Conditions as they apply to our services from time to time to reflect the following circumstances: (a) changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements in the Republic of Ireland, EU/EEA or in any country where we may operate; (b) changes required by any client or supplier to us. If we have to revise these Terms & Conditions or our Privacy Policy as they apply to you, we will post such changes and revisions on our website. Events outside our control We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by an event outside our control. An event outside our control is defined below in clause. An event outside our control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport. If an event outside our control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under a contract: (a) we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you; and (b) our obligations under a contract will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the event outside our control. Where the event outside our control affects our delivery of services to you, we may arrange alternate services after the event outside our control is over. You or we may cancel a contract affected by an event outside our control. To cancel your attendance at any of our events, please log into your Eventbrite account using the details with which you registered for that event. We do not have access to these details. If you opt to cancel, you agree that you will have no claims against us for any losses of any nature that you may suffer arising from this contract or from the cancellation of this contract, or at all. If we cancel we will notify you by email at the email address you have supplied us. Although we will avoid cancelling where reasonable to do so, you agree that you will have no claims against us for any losses of any nature that you may suffer if we do cancel. Data breach We take the security of your data very importantly. We have safeguarding processes in place, both within our organization, and also with our data processors. Your data is only used for the stated purposes of this contract, and as described in our Privacy policy. We use encryption and anonymised data whenever possible, but due to the nature of the contract, your data may be passed on to course providers, so they can see your details and evaluate your profile’s suitability. In the event of an identified data breach, our Data Breach policy in place means we will reset all our encryption and password protocols, inform the relevant authorities and notify you of this breach if you have been affected, and take all measures to minimize any further breaches. In an attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, Virtual Education Expo may link to sites operated by third parties. However, even if the third party is affiliated with Seats Are Ltd, we have no control over these linked sites, all of which have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of Virtual Education Expo. These linked sites are only for your convenience and therefore you access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, Virtual Education Expo seeks to protect the integrity of its web site and the links placed upon it and therefore requests any feedback on not only its own site, but for sites it links to as well (including if a specific link does not work). Other important terms We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract to another organisation, but this will not affect your rights or your obligations under these Terms & Conditions. We will always notify you in writing by email or by posting on our site if this happens. You may not transfer your rights or our obligations under these Terms to another person. This Contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms. Each of the paragraphs of these Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect. If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Terms, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you, we will only do so in writing, and that will not mean that we will automatically waive any later default by you. These Terms and Conditions, any Contract and our Privacy Policy are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, EU/EEA and you agree that any dispute about any of them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland. Attendee Terms and Conditions Registration for any of our event must to be done in the manner determined by Virtual Education Expo. We use Eventbrite, a third-party event registration, as the registration gateway for our events. Eventbrite powers millions of events in 180+ countries and territories. The registration for the event is completed once Eventbrite has confirmed the registration in writing through an auto-generated acknowledgement email. Virtual Education Expo reserves the right to accept or deny a participant’s registration. By purchasing a ticket to any Virtual Education Expo event you are agreeing to share your name & email with other participants for networking / further communication purposes. While every reasonable effort will be made to adhere to the conference elements as informed, Virtual Education Expo reserves the right to change event dates, location/sites or omit event features as it deems necessary and in such situations no refunds (full or partial) or alternative offers shall be given to the participant. Virtual Education Expo also reserves the right to cancel an event, in which case the participant will be notified by email prior prior to the event date and the registration fee paid (if any) will be fully refunded; Seats Are Ltd T/A Virtual Education Expo will not accept liability for any losses and/or damages registered participants may suffer due to event alteration/cancellation. Attendees must arrange adequate travel and personal liability prior to any event. Virtual Education Expo is not responsible for any of the attendee’s arrangements travel or accommodation arrangements. Participation in any event organized by Seats Are Ltd T/A Virtual Education Expo is at the risk of the participant. Virtual Education Expo will not be responsible for any incident that happens to the participant during the event or while travelling to/from the event; neither is Virtual Education Expo liable for damage to or loss of the participant’s belongings during the event. The participant acknowledges that the obligation of Virtual Education Expo to organise any event is not an obligation to achieve any result for the participant. Please note that all registrations for an event are space-permitting, on a first-come first-served basis. When you register through Eventbrite, each attendee will receive a user ID and password “Registrant Profile” to access your registration account on Eventbrite.com. Virtual Education Expo does not have access to this account. Attendees agree not to let any third-party to use their registrant profile to register for any of our events or gain access to any of same. Attendees shall be solely responsible for their failure to safeguard such information and/or to allow any other individual or entity to access or use their registrant profile. An attendee may register on behalf of more than one person provided that the person making such a registration has the authorisation required to do so. You agree to provide us with accurate and current information during the registration profile. Waiting lines to enter an event may be quite long. You can facilitate you admittance to an event by registering prior to the event, though doing so does not ensure that you will be admitted to the event quickly. We work hard to make admittance to each event a smooth process for everyone but, as the number of registrants customarily is large and only a certain number of people can be processed and/or admitted to an event at one time, you may have to wait a period of time before being admitted to an event. Virtual Education Expo reserves the right to expel a participant from further participation in an event should we, at our sole discretion, deem the participant’s behaviour inappropriate or offensive to other participants, or to our employees. No refund of a registration fee paid (if any) will be given to a participant who has been expelled from an event. Virtual Education Expo reserves the right to hire or contract third parties to co-organise or organise parts of the event. The general terms and conditions of such third parties may also apply to the participants. Apart from the content of these terms and conditions, all information, guidelines, policies and rules as provided on the website concerning events are applicable to the events and to participants in those events. Virtual Education Expo reserves the right to use comments made, or evaluations provided by the participant for the purposes of publicity and promoting its products and services. No solicitation by participants Neither the participant nor the participant’s organisation is allowed to distribute materials that promote any organization/activity within our outside any of our events. Only exhibitors, sponsors and those who Virtual Education Expo decides to permit, are permitted to solicit registrants and attendees with products/services at an event. Violators will be expelled from the event. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you would like to promote your company, jobs or services, we encourage you to become and exhibitor or sponsor. Contact You agree that by submitting your information to us, you authorise us to contact you for advertising, marketing, reminders and other commercial purposes by email or SMS. Recording of the event; granting of rights to use image and likeness Our events our public events. We will be photographing, videotaping and otherwise recording the events and using the resulting footage for promotional purposes. Each registrant acknowledges and agrees that such registrant hereby grants us the right to use, publish, digitise, broadcast, display, reproduce and store the registrant’s name, image, likeness and voice in any manner whatsoever (whether now known or hereafter known) including without limitation for the purposes of advertising, information, illustrating in promoting or publicising the event. Exhibitor speech or expression Each event offers the opportunity for various types of exhibitors to present their products, services and information about their company and career opportunities or otherwise communicate their thoughts to participants. We do not endorse or otherwise condone the statements made by, or the activities or, or products, services and job opportunities or, any exhibitor – and participants acknowledge and agree that Virtual Education Expo shall not be liable for any act or omission of an exhibitor or speaker at, or otherwise in connection with, any event. Your sole risk You acknowledge and agree that your use of our website and your attendance at our events is at your sole risk. The website and each event is provided “as is”, “where is” and “as available”.
